On March 5th, just after ending the national ice week (meaning that the entire country had temperatures below zero for a whole week), I had the pleasure of meeting with Rebecca Gillie and her father, Kevin and brother, Chris, who spent a week in Gothenburg, visiting Rebecca and exploring the surroundings. Luckily, they are used to cold winters, living in Columbus, OH, so they didn’t seem too put off by the snow and cold temperatures Gothenburg offered as a welcome! In fact, after our lunch, they were set to go off on a tour of the archipelago and as far as I know, they returned safe and sound.
One of the very important aspects of the international scholarship program is that it helps us grow the “Chalmers family” and spread knowledge about our high quality education around the world. Scholarship awardees, their families and friends as well as all alumni are our most important ambassadors and we are very grateful for the work they all do out there.
Rebecca’s father, Kevin expressed his sincere gratitude to U.S. Friends of Chalmers for providing the scholarship that made it possible for Rebecca to come to Chalmers. At Chalmers we are equally happy to have her as part of our student body and look forward to welcoming five more excellent U.S. students and lucky recipients of the U.S. Friends of Chalmers scholarship this fall. More information and reporting will follow, stay tuned!
